Phil
Kent
Company president Philip A. "Phil" Kent is a former president
of Southeastern Legal Foundation, an Atlanta-based public interest
law firm and policy center. As an author, columnist and media commentator,
Phil regularly appears on Fox News Network, CNN, MSNBC, and syndicated
talk radio programs across the nation. He is also a panelist on
Atlanta Fox 5 WAGA-TVs The Georgia Gang.
A veteran award-winning journalist, Phil was an
editorial writer, editorial page editor, and political columnist
for The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle for 25 years. He was also a co-founder
and chairman of the board of advisors from 1997-2000 of the Washington,
DC-based Editorial Information Network, and is a former member
of the Georgia Press Association.
In 1981-82, Phil served in Washington, D.C., as
press secretary and public affairs advisor to the late U.S. Sen.
Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.).
A native of Auburn, N.Y., Phil is a 1973 graduate
of the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism at the University of
Georgia. He was a member of the Young Americans for Freedom in
college and served as Georgia's state YAF chairman.
Phil was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant,
military police, and served on active duty at Fort Gordon, Ga.
A member of the National Conference of Editorial
Writers and the Military Order of World Wars, Phil serves on the
board of Atlanta Senior Citizen Services, the board of governors
of the Buckhead Club in Atlanta, is a former board member of the
Georgia Press Association and a partner in Kent-Scott Communications
LLC of Atlanta.
Dave
Scott
With more than 30 years of corporate communications, agency and
journalism experience, Dave has extensive national and international
experience in media relations, agency oversight, community relations,
strategic planning, trade press programs, management communications,
trade shows and event planning. He has headed up the corporate
communications departments of a number of corporations in the
United States and Europe, including, National Data Corporation,
Global TeleSystems, Equant, and Fortune 500 companies ITT and
Coastal Corporation.
Following five years as a daily newspaper reporter
in Florida and New York, he joined IBM where he managed a variety
of public relations activities in the US and Europe.
He later joined ITTs European Headquarters
in Brussels as Director of Public Affairs for Europe.
In the late 1980s Dave founded Scott Communications
International. As the agency of record for Nokia, he successfully
confirmed the Finnish company as a major player in the US cellular
telephone market.
Daves planning skills, media knowledge and
contacts in the major business media have generated volumes of
positive publicity. These range from cover stories in key trade
press to major placements in the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek,
Reuters, Bloomberg, Dow Jones Wire Service, CNBC, NBC, Associated
Press, CNN and numerous trade publications.
He is a member of the National Press Club and the
Atlanta Press Club.
Phil Kent and Dave Scott are also partners in Kent-Scott Communications
LLC of Atlanta.

Technology Sales and Marketing is what keeps
Philip's blood flowing. From 2000-2003, as a business account executive
for Knology (KNOL), Philip was responsible for working with business
clients on fiber connectivity projects that included both voice
and data applications. In late 2003 Philip, along with three other
partners, started a technology company called AccessOne Technologies,
LLC. that specialized in VoIP application development and implementation.
In 2006, Philip and his partners sold AccessOne to Georgia Business
Net, an ISP (Internet Service Provider), that combined AccessOne's
voice platform with their data platform to create a full fledge
voice and data operation. Currently, Philip enjoys performing project
management and sales/marketing for both Phil Kent Consulting, Inc
and Georgia Business Net. He is married to Bebe and has a son named
Charlie.
